Andrew Tank

Andrew TankAndrew Tank is in his sixth season with the Golden Gophers men’s golf staff.  Promoted to the position of associate head coach in June of 2007, Tank has helped guide Minnesota to a pair of Big Ten titles, five consecutive NCAA Regional appearances and two top-10 finishes at the NCAA Championships during his tenure.Considered to be among the nation’s top young teachers, Tank is an apprentice in the PGA of America’s Professional Golf Management Program and serves as an instructor at the University of Minnesota Golf Institute, where he conducts group and private instruction.Tank has worked tirelessly at his craft throughout his coaching career, receiving instruction from the world’s most respected golf instructors at numerous teaching seminars and coaching summits. He has also had the good fortune to surround himself with number of highly-regarded mentors such as McCullagh, PGA Master Professional Chris Foley and W.P. Rose, the former head coach at Drake University and an Iowa Golf Hall of Famer.Tank’s reputation as a teacher has provided him with the opportunity to work regularly with a number of top amateurs and professionals, many of whom compete on the PGA, Nationwide, European, Australian, Asian, and Canadian Tours.Away from the links, Tank has pursued graduate work in the areas of sport psychology and motor learning and has recently he has studied the links between the physical body and the golf swing. In November 2007, he became the first and only golf professional in Minnesota to earn Level II TPI Golf Fitness Certification.
